Maia’s Closet – Terms & Conditions

By placing a rental order, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accepted these Terms & Conditions. Please review carefully before confirming any booking.

1. Ownership & Rental Agreement

  • All garments remain the sole property of Maia’s Closet.

  • The garment is rented for the agreed rental period and must only be worn by the renter, unless explicitly permitted otherwise.

  • Rental is only confirmed once full payment has been received.

 

2. Rental Period

  • Standard rentals are for 4 day period, unless otherwise arranged.

  • The rental period begins when the garment is received by you and ends on the agreed return date, by which you must lodge the return via your nearest NZ Post using the provided prepaid return bag.

 

3. Booking, Cancellation & Refunds

  • Bookings must be paid in full at the time of reservation.

  • You may cancel with a full refund if requested at least 7 days before the rental start date.

  • Cancellations requested less than 7 days before the rental start date are non-refundable.

 

4. Shipping, Return & Postage

  • Items are dispatched to allow arrival before your event.

  • A prepaid return bag is provided for the return—you must lodge the return via NZ Post by the agreed date and time.

  • You are responsible for using the correct return method and ensuring the parcel is lodged on time.

Pickup 

  • Pickup orders can be picked up the day before your event or earlier if arranged via email or Instagram DM—email or DM us and we can easily organize for you to come pick up your order.

  • You are responsible for returning/dropping off your order by the agreed date.

     

5. Late Returns

  • If the garment is not returned by the agreed return date and time, a late fee of $10 per day will be charged until it is returned.

  • If the garment remains unreturned for more than 7 days past the due date, Maia’s Closet reserves the right to charge the full replacement value of the item plus accrued late fees.

 

6. Garment Care & Cleaning

  • You should not wash, dry-clean, spot-clean, or alter garments in any way.

  • Garments will be cleaned by Maia’s Closet after each rental.

  • Return the item in the condition you received it; normal wear is accepted, but any alteration or unauthorized cleaning may result in charges.

 

7. Damage, Loss or Replacement

  • You are liable for stains, rips, burns, or other damage beyond normal wear. Maia’s Closet may require repair or replacement costs that reflect true value and any loss in future rentals.

  • If the garment is lost, stolen, or damaged beyond repair, you will be charged the full retail replacement value, and you will no longer be able to rent from Maia’s Closet.

  • Any charges due must be settled promptly, within a timeframe specified in your rental agreement.

 

8. Fit, Condition & Description

  • Garments are provided in wearable condition; minor wear from prior rentals is expected.

  • Any known imperfections or sizing notes will be disclosed in the product listing.

  • You are encouraged to check measurements and size guides before booking. Variations due to body shape or display may occur.

 

9. Liability & Delays

  • Maia’s Closet is not liable for postal or courier delays, weather disruptions, or other events outside our control.

  • If a garment fails to arrive on time due to courier issues (when booked within the recommended timeline), we will work with you to resolve the issue. Still, refunds are not guaranteed outside those circumstances.

 

10. Fees & Unpaid Charges

  • Any outstanding fees (late fees, replacement fees, cleaning or damage charges) may be invoiced. If not paid by the due date, Maia’s Closet reserves the right to pursue debt recovery or legal remedies.

  • All costs associated with debt recovery (collection fees, legal costs) may be passed on to the renter.

 

 

11. Amendments

  • Maia’s Closet reserves the right to update or modify these Terms & Conditions at any time. Any changes will be posted on our website and will apply from the date shown above.
